Fashion / Wardrobe Stylist Program
At the beginning of the 20th century, fashion magazines began to include photographs of various fashion designs. In cities throughout the world these magazines were greatly sought after and had a profound effect on public taste in clothing.
We will discuss the most successful and influential of these and how they have affected public opinion and how we dress today.
An Editorial Stylist is a creative position that usually collaborates with clients, photographer, art director or makeup artist to come up with the visual concept of the project. Most stylists are personally stylish themselves and it’s their job to make the people, the clothing and accessories look their very best in the shoot.
A personal stylist is a person who independently helps individuals shop, curate their closet and define/refine a client’s image. We will show you where to begin helping your client in this process.
Previously, how to dress was only taught in modeling schools. Educating individuals on what looks good on them, why and how to project a desired image, is key to helping clients – we will show you how.
A personal stylist is also referred to as a “Fashion Stylist”, “Wardrobe Stylist” and “Image Consultant”.
In order to know your client’s needs, likes and dislikes you need to know your client. Every client has different tastes, needs and lifestyles. We will show you how to develop your skill and knowledge to know your client to best serve his/her needs.
Our body types often change over time. Whether the change is due to puberty, childbirth, weight loss or weight gain we are often left at a loss as to how to complement or even understand our new body shapes. People were told they were either an apple or a pear body type. We will teach you about the different body types and shapes and how to choose styles that complement each.
Establishing your brand and marketing yourself as a stylist is paramount to success in this field. You are your own brand. In today’s visual and digital world, consistency of your image and brand is key. This concept can also be used in assessing a client’s desired image or brand that they are trying to portray.
Our instructors will be working closely with each individual to monitor and assess their progress. Your success is our success in certifying the most educated stylists with our trained and experienced staff.
